The ZeroLoss containment shell is a new feature being offered with the Sundyne sealless magnetic drive pump product line. This revolutionary shroud design extends the advantages of HMD Kontro sealless magnetic drive pumps, demonstrating our continued commitment to providing customers with improved efficiency and reduced equipment life cycle costs.

The ZeroLoss containment shell works by eliminating eddy current heating - a common issue with rotating equipment. This allows for higher efficiency ratings, the benefits of which are most obvious on larger pumps, where reductions in the size of the magnetic couple and motor can lead to operational cost savings. Additionally, smaller base plates can sometimes be specified, allowing for a reduced footprint and consequent space savings.

The ZeroLoss containment shell is engineered from a proprietary material, which was originally developed for use in the construction of modern, high-tech aircraft. This low mass material blend offers a range of benefits, including:

1. High tensile strength

2. Temperature range of -40°C to +120°C (potential up to +150°C)

3. Resistance to a wide range of chemicals

4. Does not suffer from brittleness at sub-zero temperatures

5. Resistance to thermal shock

6. Impact resistance

7. Tough and ductile

Thanks to this rugged design, the ZeroLoss containment shell is capable of enduring the rigors of a wide range of process applications, including high-pressure well service, caustics handling, hydrocarbon processing, light oil transfer and water production.

By providing lowered energy requirements and overall utility costs as well -- as the intrinsic benefit of a reduced carbon footprint -- the ZeroLoss containment shell has become a value-added feature of the Sundyne Sealless Magnetic Drive Pump product line.
